Camrose County Officers received two separate complaints from County residents regarding someone stealing gravel at Sherman Park (west of Ferintosh). County officers attended the location and were able to locate one male suspect. Bashaw RCMP were then notified and this matter is still under investigation.

A dump truck, large trailer and bob cat were located parked near Twp Rd 494 west of Highway 833. The equipment was determined to be stolen from a Spruce Grove construction site. The equipment has been returned to the rightful owner, however this is currently under investigation. Please call Camrose RCMP if you witnessed any suspicious activity in the area.

June 1
Police responded to a report of a theft of vehicle north of Camrose. a 31 year old male was arrested on scene and charged with: Theft of Motor Vehicle, Mischief Under $5000, Unsafe Storage of Firearms and Driving While Disqualified.

May 31
Bashaw RCMP received a report of an attempted theft of a cargo trailer near Meeting Creek, AB. Witnesses in the area were proficient and assisted Bashaw RCMP with locating the suspects. A male out of Red Deer, Alberta, was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and two charges of failing to comply with condition of undertaking or recognizance.

Bashaw RCMP has been inundated with rural theft investigations, many of which could have been prevented. Bashaw RCMP wants to remind rural residents to ensure that no keys are left inside farm vehicles, and that they are locked. This includes homes and outbuildings. Thefts of vehicles, tools, trailers, etc. are on the rise in the rural areas. Many of the thefts could have been prevented by simply locking up. Taking preventative measures saves money on insurance premiums, cost of replacing items, the time spent of everyone involved, and acts as a deterrent to the criminals.
Please try to prevent theft, take the time to lock it.

May 24
The rear window of a parked vehicle was smashed out overnight in Bawlf. Pictures were obtained and the matter is currently under investigation.

May 25
Two mailboxes were tampered with along Highway 26. Report any suspicious activity to Camrose RCMP (780) 672-3342.

May 26
Police attended a residence that had been entered after the front door was kicked in. The house was damaged and some items were noted to be missing, this is currently being investigated.

At approximately 16:30, a northbound vehicle failed to stop for a red light at the intersection of Highway 13 and Highway 56. A female driver was forced to swerve in an attempt to miss the northbound car, causing extensive damage to her vehicle. Camrose RCMP has been receiving numerous complaints of telephone scams.
Targeting seniors, unknown person(s) are calling and claiming to be with Revenue Canada, the RCMP and many other associations in an attempt to obtain money. Please be aware. Do not provide any banking information to them. There is no need to report these phone calls unless you have already provided your credit card information or if you are missing money.

April 18
Camrose RCMP would like to inform the public of a current and rather alarming telephone scam. Several people have reported receiving fraudulent calls from a person claiming to be from either the Canada Revenue Agency or a member of the RCMP. The caller states that tax money is owed immediately and if not paid, an arrest warrant will be issued. Please remember that this is a scam. DO NOT send money. Hang up and report it to the RCMP Anti-fraud Centre at www.antifraudcentre.ca or by calling 1-888-495-8501 if you have a contact name and number from the person.

April 20
A residential break and enter resulted in personal belongings being stolen, including several firearms. The break-in occurred on Range Road 183 in the County of Camrose. RCMP is encouraging county residents to lock up their belongings and consider looking into surveillance systems.

Suspicious vehicles were reported in Hay Lakes, Round Hill and Kelsey areas. Due to numerous break and enters and thefts in the Camrose County, please contact police if there is a suspicious vehicle in your neighborhood.

March 21
A truck was stolen from a driveway in the country near Bittern Lake. The truck was later found abandoned and recovered near Maskwacis. This matter is currently under investigation. Please be diligent in securing your property.

Police received a complaint of a male driving into a yard, and opening a car door. The owner/complainant chased the male away. This has been determined to be related to the previously stolen vehicle from Bittern Lake.

March 22
Police received a report of a residential break & enter in Kingman. General property was taken from the residence, including firearms. A gold 2009 1-ton Megacab Dodge truck was also stolen from the property. Please call Camrose RCMP with any information.

March 27
A vehicle was reported damaged while parked in Bawlf. This has been an ongoing issue in the area. Please report any suspicious activity.

March 27, 2016

Camrose RCMP
A vehicle was damaged while parked overnight in Bawlf. It appeared that the passenger side of the vehicle was scratched with a key. If anyone has information or have noticed suspicious activity in the area they are encouraged to contact Camrose RCMP.

Three males were observed attempting to brake into a garage in New Norway. Suspects were located by Camrose Police Service. It was determined that nothing was missing from the residence, however the males were associated to other files and charges were laid by the Camrose City Police.

Three Bawlf businesses had locks and doors pried open with a crowbar throughout the night. This is currently under investigation.

Two license plates were stolen off of vehicles parked in Ohaton. Please report any suspicious activity to Camrose RCMP.

Camrose County
During the first couple of weeks in March, Camrose County Officers have received numerous complaints regarding vehicles trespassing on privately owned property. These vehicles are mud bogging and causing extensive damage to farm lands. If these offenses are witnessed, the public is asked to try their best to get a license plate number or at least a vehicle description, which could include the make, model, color, and possibly the year.

Camrose RCMP
A County resident attended the Camrose Detachment’s front counter to report a gooseneck trailer being stolen from the area of TWP 470 and Highway 21. The trailer is described as a grey, 2014 Precision model FG30BP10SP with a licence plate number of 4PX037. If you have any information regarding this trailer, please call the Camrose RCMP at 780 672 3342.

A member of Camrose Fish and Game called the detachment to report that he found needles, a crack pipe and other drug paraphernalia at Pleasure Island. The items were disposed of and RCMP are requesting public assistance if any suspicious persons or activity are seen in the area, to call the Camrose detachment at 780-672-3342.

A suspicious vehicle has been seen multiple times in the area of RR 181 and TWP 480. The vehicle is described as a four door Ford F150 (unknown color) with a loud motor. A tidy tank has been noted in the back. A second vehicle was seen accompanying the Ford, this past week. It was described as possibly a white, Dodge 4x4 and also having a loud motor. The vehicles have been seen driving slowly past properties in the area.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at a residence in the area of TWP 483 and RR 194. The vehicle was seen parked at the end of a drive way and the complainant watched it drive into the yard, turn around, drive back out, park on the main road and the lights being turned out. The vehicle then drove a little further down the road, parked again and again turned the lights off. As it was dark, no vehicle description or licence plate number was able to be obtained. RCMP are asking residents in the area to be on the lookout for such suspicious activity and to report anything unusual.

Three vehicles were reported being broken into in New Norway. In two instances, debit cards, cash and personal identification was stolen. One of the debit cards was later found to have been used in Red Deer. RCMP are reminding County residents to ensure all valuables and keys are removed from your vehicle and vehicles are left locked.

CAMROSE RCMP

A concerned resident attended the Camrose Detachment to report computer fraud.  The complainant received a fake iTunes email receipt and provided her personal information when requested.  Upon realizing the iTunes email was not legitimate, the complainant cancelled credit cards. No funds were lost due to this prompt action.  The complainant wanted to make the report in case of additional victims.

A complaint was received about harassing communications by someone with a heavy accent saying they are calling regarding the complainants VISA.  The individual calls from various phone numbers and is difficult to understand but states “We are trying to do the right thing.”  Should you receive such a phone call, hang up immediately and do not disclose any personal information.

March 3, 2016

February 23
A resident of Bawlf called to report a rock being thrown through a window of the house. RCMP attended the residence to investigate. If anyone noted seeing suspicious activity on Sandon Street around 22:00 on February 23, they are encouraged to call the RCMP at 780-672-3342.

February 24
An individual attended the Camrose RCMP detachment to report that he was driving his Ford Explorer west on Secondary 617 when he was met by an oncoming blue Ford truck traveling in east in the wrong lane. The driver of the Ford truck forced the complainant off the road and he subsequently hit a patch of trees. The driver of the Ford truck did not stop nor was a license plate number able to be obtained.

A county resident dropped off a purse that was found in the middle of the road at TWP 480 and RR 223. As there was nothing in the purse, the appropriate owner cannot be found. It has been placed in the RCMP lost and found, should you believe it belongs to you.

February 25
A complaint was received from a driver on RR 192 as a grain truck had ran through a stop sign. A licence plate number was obtained and RCMP were able to contact the driver. The driver of the grain truck admitted to not stopping at the stop sign as he disagreed with its location. RCMP were able to discuss the importance of obeying traffic signs for the driver’s safety and other drivers on the road.

The owner of an excavator called to report theft of 450 litres of diesel from his equipment from a worksite on RR 203. RCMP are continuing to investigate this matter.

RCMP responded to (3) dangerous driving complaints, (1) 911 hang up and (2) animal related collisions.

County Officers are looking to speak with the owner of this silver Pontiac Grand Prix, possibly early 2001-2004 model with tinted windows. The vehicle was captured on a County Officer’s dash camera on February 3, 2016 in the Rosalind, AB area. If any persons recognizes this vehicle are asked to contact the County Protective Services Department at (780) 672-4449.

February 18, 2016

Camrose RCMP
A resident in Ohaton called to report a suspicious vehicle parked behind their shed and upon approaching the vehicle, it departed at a high rate of speed. A neighbour also stated that the same vehicle had been spotted driving slowly up and down the street a few minutes prior. A description was obtained as a white car, possibly a Cavalier. RCMP made a patrol but was unable to locate the vehicle.

A call was received about a break and enter from a resident in Ohaton. The home owner had left the home later in the morning and had locked all doors. Upon returning home in the afternoon, the back door had been found open. No items were found to be missing.

A second break and enter was reported in the area of RR 221 and TWP 462. The residence was locked and access was gained through damaging the patio door. This matter is still under investigation.

A concerned resident attended the RCMP detachment to report stop signs had been stolen at the intersection of Hwy 854 and Hwy 13 along with signs around Hwy 609. A total of 4 signs were reported missing.

February 4, 2016

Camrose RCMP
With the weather approaching the time of year when melting occurs during the day, but freezes again over night, and is sunny one day but snowing the next, RCMP would like to remind drivers to be cautious of changing road conditions. Be mindful that ice patches still exist, especially in shaded areas. Upcoming snowfall will also conceal slippery patches.

Camrose RCMP have increased their highway patrols. This week, 22 speeding violations were issued. The average ticketed speed was 134km/hr with the highest being 148km/hr. These speeds combined with changing road conditions can potentially lead to deadly results.

A complaint was received from a resident in the area of RR 185 and TWP 454 regarding a suspicious person. The complainant said a Caucasian male drove a white cargo van onto his property and parked the vehicle in front of the house. The male then came to the door, and when answered said nothing but laughed at the homeowner. The individual complied when asked to leave the property. The homeowner was concerned about possibly being checked out for theft.

If you have a security system, take the time to go over your phone list with your security company and verify that it's up to date. Make sure you have someone who is available to check your home for low priority alarms. Remember that effective February 1, the RCMP will be implementing the County of Camrose Police False Alarm Bylaw.
If you do not have a security system, do a walk through in your home ensuring all doors and windows are locked. It is also advised to try and find a responsible friend or family member to regularly check in on you place in your absence.

On January 17 2016, the owner of a Polaris RMK900 returned to his house to find his snowmobile had been stolen in the area of Highway 21 and Highway 611.  The snowmobile was stolen sometime between January 14, 2016 and January 17, 2016.

Camrose RCMP
A report of a break and enter was received from a resident in the area of Range Road 201 and Township Road 472. The owner’s machine shed had been broken into and various items were stolen. RCMP continue to work closely with the property owner as this matter is still under investigation.

January 14, 2016

Camrose RCMP
A complaint was received from the owner of the UFA in Bawlf, that sometime over the weekend, culprits tried to gain access into the shop by breaking the lock. Access was not successfully gained but a fuel pump on the outside of the shop was stolen. A vehicle description was described as being a newer model, white or silver, Ford F250 or F350.

January 6, 2016

Camrose County
Sometime between December 25th and December 30th, unknown individuals attempted to break into the Kelsey Water Shed. The individuals damaged the tin on the shed around the cash box, but it did not appear to gain access. If anyone witnesses any suspicious vehicles or persons in the area, they are asked to contact the RCMP and/or the Camrose County Officers.


Bashaw RCMP
Between January 3rd, 2016 and January 5th, 2016, a building was vandalized in Meeting Creek, AB and 6 windows were broken.

In the early hours of January 5th, 2016, a lease site Northwest of Bashaw was broken into and an ATV and trailer, among other things were stolen.  The ATV and Trailer were located on the Aberhard Road between Township Road 424 and Township Road 430.  If you have any information regarding this or if you saw who dropped it off please contact the Bashaw RCMP at 780-372-3793.

Between December 31st, 2015 and January 4th, 2016, a business on Highway 601 near Highway 12 was broken into and fuel was stolen

Bashaw RCMP wants to remind residents to keep their belongings locked and not keep valuables in their vehicles.  A rash of break in to vehicles were reported over the holidays.

Between November 17, 2015 and December 27, 2015, 1000 gallons of fuel was stolen from a residence on Range Road 231 near Alix.

Between January 4th, 2016 and January 5th, 2016 a business in Bashaw had the locks cut off their company trucks and fuel stolen from the truck.

Camrose RCMP
A county resident in the area of Township 500 and Range Road 204 reported his mailbox had been broken into and two pieces of personal mail had been stolen. As mail thefts continue in the County, residents are reminded to check their mailboxes multiple times a day and report any suspicious activity.

A report of a break and enter was received from the Double Dam Golf Course. The thieves gained access through a window and once inside, removed various assortments of alcohol. RCMP are continuing their investigation with this matter.

RCMP received a call from a resident in the area of TWP 451 and RR 221 as his shed had been broken into and numerous guns had been stolen. Additional security and storage measures were discussed with the homeowner.

A concerned resident in the area of Miquelon Lake called to report a suspicious vehicle that had slowly driven by the property twice in one week. The black Suburban had two male occupants wearing toques. The vehicle was last seen driving south on Range Road 205. As the male driver was `slouched` over the steering wheel, the resident felt the property was being scoped out. Additional security measures were also discussed with the homeowner.

December 23, 2015

CAMROSE RCMP

A resident in the area of Township Road 474 and Range Road 200, who had been affected by the recent mailbox thefts, called to report that someone had been in his yard overnight as fresh tire tracks were visible. RCMP attended the residence and found no evidence of theft or break and enter on the property. Additional security measures were discussed with the homeowner.

RCMP received a complaint from a concerned resident in the area of Range Road 180 and Township Road 440 regarding two suspicious girls parked at the end of his driveway. Upon speaking to the girls who were parked in a dark green Ford truck, they indicated they were waiting for their father, but then left the scene in a hasty manor in a northbound direction. The complainant then noticed unfamiliar footprints in in the trees on his property. RCMP are currently investigating this matter.

RCMP is reminding people to be vigilant about providing personal information over the phone. Currently there is a telephone scam taking place where a call comes from someone identifying themselves from Canada Revenue Agency. They advise that money is owed and to get information to call a number. If the number is called the person on the other end will try to obtain personal information from you such as name, date of birth, and social insurance number. They will ask you for money through a means that CRA doesn't use. Threats of legal action or arrest will be used. Please, DO NOT call the number back. Canada Revenue Agency can be contacted through the approved published phone number in the Blue Pages of the telephone book.

Numerous reports have been made of vehicle theft, theft from vehicles, and thefts from properties all over the area.

RCMP is reminding people to keep their homes, garages, sheds, and vehicles locked when unattended to help prevent thefts. Do not leave your vehicle unlocked and unattended while warming it up. Do not leave unlocked and unattended while running errands, such as running to the post office, to the gas station, or into a store. Valuables should be locked up and out of sight. If you're going to be away, have someone you trust check your property frequently, or consider having a house-sitter. If using an alarm system, verify that it's in good working order and that the address location as well as contact information is up to date.

Camrose RCMP

Camrose RCMP assisted Killam RCMP with setting up roadblocks at various roadways leading out of Sedgewick in attempts to catch a suspect believed to have been involved in an armed robbery at the Sedgewick Gas Station. No injuries were sustained and the vehicle was not located. This matter is still under investigation.

RCMP have received multiple complaints about mailboxes being damaged and broken into in the areas between TWP 453 and RR 200.  It is advised that residents check their mailboxes multiple times a day during the holiday seasons so to minimize theft possibilities.  Please notify RCMP should your mailbox be damaged or you notice suspicious activity

A call was received from the Hay Lakes Bottle Depot as the business had been broken into sometime during the night of December 10. The approximate value of cash and recycling items stolen was $600. Due to it snowing overnight, no tracks were able to be photographed.

A call was received from an alarm company for a business on Main Street in Hay Lakes. RCMP attended to find the business had been broken into but it appeared the thieves left upon hearing the alarm. Footprints were obtained and this matter is still under investigation.

RCMP responded to a second break and enter call at the Hay Lakes Baseball Diamond. A number of buildings had been broken into, but the only item found to be stolen was a computer from the multipurpose building.

Camrose RCMP are receiving multiple reports of break and enters in the Hay Lakes area. We would like to remind all residents and business owners to ensure all doors are locked, lights are left on and all valuables are out of sight. Should you notice ANY suspicious activity, no matter how big or small, please report it with as much detail of the suspects and involved vehicles, as possible. DO NOT place yourself in danger by trying to confront or apprehend any potential thieves.

CAMROSE COUNTY

On December 4, 2015, County Officers received a complaint from a resident advising his mailbox, along with two of his neighbor’s mailboxes, had been severely damaged at the intersection of TWP 451 and RRD 202. The resident was advised to contact his local RCMP to also make them aware of this incident. This file is still under investigation.


CAMROSE RCMP

A report was received from a resident in Ohaton about an attempted break and enter. The would-be-thieves broke the door handle to an office however the deadbolt held and kept the door locked and closed. An addition break in was attempted on a trailer but the latch & padlock held and while the metal latch was bent, no entry was gained.

A concerned resident of Hay Lakes reported seeing a black, newer Dodge halftone driving in front of the complainant’s residence and down the back alley. The vehicle then drove down the next street and alley and repeated the pattern multiple times.

RCMP are investigating the theft of 15 shotguns and rifles from a resident in the area of TWP 462 and RR 203. Other items stolen include a Dell laptop computer and carry case, jewelry box and approximately $1,000 US. This matter is still under investigation

RCMP have received a complaint from a concerned resident in the area of RR185 advising that between TWP 460 and TWP 454 he noted a suspicious female driving a newer model black ¾ tonne pick-up stopping at rural mailboxes and looking through the mail. No licence plate was able to be obtained and no damage was observed. It is advised that should similar suspicious activity be witnessed to contact the RCMP with vehicle description and a licence plate number if possible.

Camrose RCMP

A resident of Hay Lakes reported that someone entered a new home he is building and stole a small Champion 3000/4000W generator and an antique chain and lock from the basement. Further security options were discussed with the home owner.

RCMP received a complaint of a TS 480i Skil 12” concrete saw being stolen overnight in the town of New Norway. This theft, along with others reported from New Norway and within the County, are currently under investigation.

**UPDATED**
RCMP would like to advise county residents, specifically in the areas of Hay Lakes, Rosalind and Ohaton, about a grey Ford F150 that has been seen entering both private and business properties. It appears the driver enters the property and is “scoping” things out. Upon being noticed, the vehicle abruptly leaves along with a second vehicle that is awaiting on the main road.
**A further description of the vehicle has been obtained -- an aluminum Ford F150 quad cab short box 4x4.**

RCMP want to remind residents to lock their homes and vehicles to prevent potential break and enters and theft. Did you know that some insurance companies may not honor claims of theft if keys are left in vehicles? It is everyone’s responsibility to be part of crime prevention which includes locking your homes and vehicles. Within the past seven days, thefts and break and enters have been reported in New Norway, Hay Lakes, Ohaton and Kingman.

November 23, 2015: Press Release

Camrose RCMP

RCMP attended the scene of a burnt and stolen truck in the area of Township Road 481 and Range Road 214, as well as a second vehicle stolen from the same area. The burnt vehicle, a 2003 Ford SRW was found to have been stolen out of Bentley. A red 1988 GMC GMT-400 is still reported as missing.

RCMP were notified of a scam originating out of Nigeria involving items for sale on Kijiji. Scammers are offering to send funds to establish a Paypal account. The funds never arrive and the scammers insist that the seller sends the funds back to them. When the funds are sent, the money is taken out immediately and more money is then requested.

The New Norway Fire Department reported the Fire Hall had been broken into. The culprits jimmied the exterior door to gain access. The office door was also broken open and approximately $100 cash was stolen.

RCMP responded to a 911 complaint for the Tilicum Beach area where a female was heard screaming. Neighborhood inquiries were conducted and a residence had been broken into. Police are requesting anyone that may have heard or seen anything to please call the Camrose RCMP at 780-672-3342.

On November 4, 2015, County Officers received a complaint from a resident advising of a suspicious trailer loaded with two Sea-Doo jet skis left unattended in the area of TWP 445 and RRD 205. County Officers attended the location and determined the trailer was stolen out of Sylvan Lake, Alberta. Camrose RCMP were notified and this file has now been forwarded to the Sylvan Lake RCMP Camrose RCMP.

A break and enter was reported at a business in the area of Township Road 470 and Highway 21. A number of locks were broken but nothing was found to be missing.

A concerned resident called to report a suspicious vehicle driving through his field in the Kingman area. No damage was done, but this matter is still under investigation.

November 4, 2015: Press Release

Camrose RCMP

A complaint of mischief was received from the area of Range Road 210 and Township Road 464. The complainant went to load bags of wheat and found that a bag had been cut open. Cans of beer and tire tracks were found at the location. This matter is still under investigation.

RCMP attended the Briam Subdivision after someone had spotted something floating in the creek wrapped in a blanket. With the assistance of the Camrose Fire Department, the object was retrieved and was found to be that of a deceased dog. A call was received from a concerned resident who had been out hunting and found a moose carcass along with a loaded shotgun left unattended. RCMP attended the scene and this matter has now been turned over to Fish and Wildlife.

CAMROSE RCMP

A complaint was received from a resident of Bittern Lake of a vehicle’s rear window being broken overnight. Nothing was found to have been stolen from the vehicle.

A complaint was received about an attempted break and enter in the area of Township Road 471 and Range Road 205. The resident returned home to find pry marks on their front door. Upon a detailed check of the property, nothing was found to be missing or damaged.

RCMP have received a number of theft of gas complaints in the areas of Range Road 183 and Township 480 as well as in the Bawlf area

A resident of Hay Lakes attended the Camrose Detachment to report after the strong wind storm on October 10, a white adult bike and gas can showed up in her yard. If you believe the bike may belong to you, please call the Camrose RCMP.


CAMROSE COUNTY

County Officers received a complaint from a resident advising that she has Off Highway Vehicles (OHV – quads) trespassing on her quarter which cause damage to her horse pasture. The complainant also advised that during the winter months, snowmobiles are frequently on her property. This property is located in the TWP 460 and RRD 181 area. County Officers continue to make regular patrols in the area to deter or locate the trespassers.

October 7
RCMP are investigating a break and enter in the area of Highway 26 and Range Road 200. The windows of a shed were broken. It was confirmed that no property was missing and that no other buildings, vehicles nor the residence were entered. This matter is still under investigation.

October 8
RCMP are investigating an incident where a gentleman driving a Buick was northbound on Highway 833, about to turn into Lindstrand Auctions when a dark colored van was driven into the grassy ditch sideswiping the Buick. The driver of the van proceeded driving north in the ditch until eventually pulling over to check the damage to the van and then left the scene at a high rate of speed. No injuries were sustained and this matter is still under investigation.

October 1
A call about a suspicious person was received from a County resident in the Ohaton area. One of their children was quading on their property when a male wearing a balaclava pulled up in a green Ford minivan and started yelling at the child to give him money. Attempts to lure or chase the child were not made and the possibility of this event being a practical joke by a family member or friend have been ruled out.

Bashaw RCMP would like to remind people to not leave unattended vehicles unlocked, and not to leave valuables such as keys, cell phones, wallets, purses, computers, and firearms inside vehicles.

August 31
Sometime between 1700hrs on Sunday, August 31 and 0800hrs Monday, September 1, access gates to an Enerplus work site located near the intersection of Twp 492 and RR 214 were damaged and partially removed. This allowed unidentified people to access to the road. If anyone has any information regarding this, or any other incident, please contact Camrose RCMP.

September 3
RCMP received a complaint of a stolen vehicle in the area of Range Road 194 and Township Road 490.  While the gentleman was farming his fields, his green 1997 Chevrolet GMT-400 was stolen.

A County Resident called to report two horses missing from their pasture.  One is a 24 year old black Morgan gelding with a white blaze on the forehead and two white half socks on his back feet.  He is not branded.  The other is a 3 year old grey running Quarter Horse gelding, branded with two loops hooked together on his right shoulder.  Neither are wearing halters.  Both horses stand about 14.2 hands and weigh about 800lbs.  Please call the Camrose RCMP should you see or know the whereabouts of these two horses.

We have been getting an influx of residential alarms that turn out to be false.  If you have purchased an alarm, it is your responsibility to ensure you are aware of how to operate it properly and cancelling as soon as possible if it is incorrectly activated.

CAMROSE COUNTY

County Officers received a complaint from a resident in Sherman
Park (west of Ferintosh) advising that on weekends, especially long weekends, people are operating their Off Highway Vehicles (OHV's) tearing up the streets and speeding up and down the roads. The complaint also advised many of the drivers may be underage.

Camrose County Officers would like to remind Camrose County residents, that OHV's are permitted in subdivisions, however the speed limit is 30 km/h and all OHV's must be registered and insured. The minimum age to operate OHV's on a public road is 14 years of age.

August 1
A green 2012 KLX 140 motorbike was reported stolen in the area of Range Road 213 and Township Road 470. No description of suspects was obtained.

August 2
A suspicious vehicle was reported in the area of Range Road 192 and Township Road 485. A resident in the area noted the vehicle at the end of her driveway around 11:00 at night and when house lights were turned on, the vehicle drove away. No description was obtained but it is believed to be an older car or truck as the headlights were close to the ground.

August 5
A white 2500 Chev long box was reported stolen from the Rosalind area. In the same area, a Dodge Ram was broken into and a pair of sunglasses, small change and a cordless radio were stolen.

August 6
Multiple complaints from residents in Bawlf were received about various thefts and vehicle break ins. RCMP would like to issue a reminder to not leave valuables in a vehicle and to ensure vehicles are locked up at night.

August 2
A complaint was received of possible gun shots coming from the east side of Buffalo Lake. Police patrolled the area and were unable to locate or hear anything similar to gun shots.

August 8
Bashaw RCMP received a report of poor driving and harassing behavior on Highway 11 near Alix, AB. RCMP would like to issue a reminder about the speed limit changes on Highway 11 and that they are active even when workers are not present!

A green Sportek Pathfinder mountain bike was found abandoned on Highway 56 one kilometer north of Highway 609.  Please call the Camrose RCMP if you know the owner of the bike or have any information on how the bike ended up being in the ditch.

A green 2012 KLX 140 motor bike was stolen from the area of Township Road 470 and Range Road 213. RCMP would like to issue a reminder to slow down in the construction zone at Highway 13 and Highway 21 as they work on the roundabout. The posted speed is 50km/hr.

A complaint was received from a resident in the area of Range Road 173 about a grain aerator and some tools being stolen. No evidence was left at the scene and no description of the suspect was obtained.

A complaint was received reporting mischief to the coin box which is attached to the Kelsey Water Station. RCMP contacted Camrose Protective Services and was informed that this was an ongoing issue with water stations in the county.

On July 13, 2015, Camrose County Officers received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle driving into yard sites in the area of TWP 450 and RRD 184.  The vehicle is described as an early 2000 model Chevy pickup truck, light brown in color, with a dent on the front left corner of the box.  The two male individuals in the pickup truck have been seen driving very slowly past properties in the area.  If this suspicious vehicle is witnessed again, residents are asked to try and acquire a licence plate and contact Camrose County Protective Services (780-672-4449).

Internet and phone fraud crimes are on the rise! Please be very mindful when different people and or agencies are calling and demanding money from you.   RCMP would like to take this opportunity to remind you:  1) Do not send money to someone you don't know and 2) Do not give out any of your personal banking information or any other personal identification!

If you receive an email or a letter advising you can inherit some funds, generally millions,  by sending your personal information and  paying a low percentage of the inheritance, DON'T DO IT!!!! This is a growing scam.

Also on the rise, are complaints regarding phone calls from individuals claiming to be from the Canada Revenue Agency.  Those contacted have been requested to send payment or they will be sued. This is a scam, DON'T SEND ANY MONEY.

Multiple reports have been received about a suspicious person in the county and surrounding areas. This individual is claiming to be “Eddie the Rainmaker” and is stating that he can sell rain. The individual is described as a larger male with a beard and mustache and speaks with a distinct German accent. He has been seen driving a 90’s green GMC truck with a Canadian flag on the top as well as a small grey sedan type vehicle. Should you see or be approached by this individual, please contact RCMP.

June 19
RCMP responded to report in the middle of the night of approximately 15 cattle roaming Highway 623 between Range Road 214 and 213. Patrols were made, but the herd was unable to be located.

A call was received about children playing on the train tracks in New Norway. RCMP patrolled the area and inquired at some residents but were unable to locate the children.


June 21
Two residents in Round Hill reported their garages being broken into. Among some of the items stolen were a 3/8” drill, Yamaha generator, Stihl grass trimmer and a Stihl chainsaw.

A complaint was received from a resident in Kingman about an abandoned vehicle. A black and gray mid 1990 GMC Sierra was left in the ditch with no licence plate on it and the windows broken. RCMP has made efforts to contact the registered owner without success. This matter is still under investigation.

May 26
An individual attended the detachment to report that his son’s BMX bike had been stolen from his property at Tillicum Beach. The bike is described as a white FIT EDDIE 1 with orange rims and grips.

Multiple driving complaints have been received of people speeding through the construction zone on Highway 26 and Secondary 834. We would like to remind drivers to be aware of the workers on the road during summer months and that should you be caught speeding in a construction zone, fines are doubled.

May 15
A call was received from a resident in the area of Ohaton stating that every time the gravel roads get graded, someone on a quad goes to various intersections and spins wheels to create ruts. This active has recently been noted at Range Road 191 and Range Road 192 at Township Road 464. RCMP are monitoring the area

May 16
New Norway Gas Station called the detachment to reported theft of gas and groceries. Two females were seen leaving the station in a dark colored van and headed south on Highway 21.

May 19
RCMP received a call regarding a commercial break and enter and theft of fuel. The complainant was unsure of how access was gained as gates were locked. Fuel and a fuel card were taken and locks were broken off the building as well as vehicles were broken into. This matter is still under investigation.

May 23
A report was received about two suspicious individuals in a white Chevrolet Cavalier parked in the area of Township Road 490 and Range Road 194. The description of the men matched that of two individuals known to RCMP. This matter is still under investigation.

Bashaw RCMP received report of a theft that occurred in the past. The complainant advised that a generator, compressor and recyclable bottles were stolen. It appeared the unknown suspects left other stolen property behind, which was stolen from the neighbours.

Bashaw RCMP attended 3 reports of a break and enter into businesses in the early morning in Alix and Mirror, AB. Police attended and these matters are under investigation.

RCMP received a report of two individuals using a laser pointer to spook horses in Stettler County, AB

RCMP received a call reporting a large gravel spill on Highway 21 that started North of New Norway and continued for approximately 3 kilometers past the town. Multiple vehicles received extensive damage. This matter is still under investigation.


MAY 15

Complaints were received about people camping at the Kelsey and Kingman ball diamonds over the May Long Weekend.
This is a reminder to residents that these properties are not for camping.  Any people consuming alcohol on these grounds could be prosecuted under the Gaming and Liquor Act for consuming liquor in a public place and/or public intoxication.  Any recreational vehicles on these properties will be told to vacate the property ASAP or the R.V.s could be towed and removed at the owners expense.  Camrose County reminds residents that there are many designated camping areas throughout Camrose County and campers should take advantage of the designated areas to avoid any unnecessary complaints from the general public and a visit from Law Enforcement Officers.

Police received a call regarding a two vehicle collision on Highway 21 north of Hay Lakes. The complainant was pulling into her driveway when she was sideswiped by a silver Chevrolet truck heading South. The vehicle did not stop for the accident. No driver description or licence plate was obtained. This matter is still under investigation.

MAY 9
RCMP responded to a complaint of a dirt bike crossing private property in the area of Range Road 215 North of Hay Lakes. The complainant was able to motion to the driver of the dirt bike to stay off the property. Threats were made. This matter is still under investigation.



MAY 11
RCMP responded to three calls in the area of Range Road 205 and Township Road 482 for four stolen vehicles. Three of the vehicles have been recovered, but a Green Chevrolet GMT400 is still missing.

April 30
On the morning of April 30, 2015 County Officers received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in the area of TWP 454 East of the Aberhart Road. The vehicle was described as a black or grey, smaller sized truck (possibly a Mazda or Ford Ranger). The two individuals in the truck both had hoodies on and seemed to be concealing their faces. County Officers attended the location, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

April 29, 2015: Press Release

APRIL 20
RCMP received a call from the County of Camrose reporting that their County truck was stolen sometime overnight. The truck was found sitting in front of the Total Life Christian Church in Ryley. Two chain saws and a gas card were stolen from the vehicle. This matter is still under investigation.

APRIL 21
An anonymous complaint was received about an ongoing issue of dirt bikes being driven up and down the road in the area of Township Road 494 and Range Road 193 and property being damaged. Members have been made aware of the incident and this matter is still under investigation.

APRIL 22
The Detachment received a call advising someone was burning bush in extremely windy conditions. The County of Camrose was contacted and attended.

APRIL 23
A second vehicle was reported stolen, this time out of the Hay Lakes area. The complainant reported coming home to find his house broken into with multiple items stolen, along with his black 2009 Ford F350 and 2012 red Razor Polaris ATV. The truck was seen being used in a “gas and dash” in Strathcona County later in the day. This matter is still under investigation.

Bashaw RCMP received report to assist EMS and Fire at a scene where a male had been pinned by a bobcat near Mirror, AB. Police arrived on scene and the male that was pinned had been removed and was able to walk on his own. Medical attention was sought.

Bashaw RCMP received a 911 hangup. The call came from a cell tower and there was no answer on call back.

April 3, 2015
Bashaw RCMP received report of an alarm in Donalda, AB. Police attended, determined it was a false alarm.

April 4, 2015
Bashaw RCMP received report of a noise complaint early in the morning in Bashaw, AB. Police were advised soon after the noise had stopped.

Bashaw RCMP received an anonymous tip about a possible drunk driver. It was stated the driver was near Ferintosh, AB and traveling North. Bashaw RCMP patrolled the area and informed Camrose RCMP as the vehicle would be traveling in their direction.

April 5, 2015
Bashaw RCMP received report of an alarm at a residence in Braseth Beach. Police spoke to the owner of the home and were advised it was a false alarm.

Bashaw RCMP received report of possible suspicious people near Alix, AB. Police attended and did not see any persons or vehicles.

Bashaw RCMP received report of domestic argument in progress in Mirror, AB. Police attended and spoke to the two parties. Neither wanted to give a statement or press charges.

April 6, 2015
Bashaw RCMP received report of an alarm in Alix, AB. Police spoke to the property rep of the building and determined it was a false alarm.

Bashaw RCMP received report of a possible impaired driver near Bashaw, AB. Police located the vehicle and the driver was going through a medical emergency. The driver of the vehicle was transported to the Stettler Hospital for treatment, and given a 24 hr driving suspension because of a fatigue or medical condition affecting the ability to operate a motor vehicle.

April 7, 2015
Bashaw RCMP received report of a single vehicle vs deer motor vehicle collision. The driver hit two different deers on his way to Camrose, one accident happened near Mirror, AB and the other near Meeting Creek, AB. The vehicle was still drive able and made it to Camrose, AB.

Bashaw RCMP received report of two different break and enter occurrences at the same residence in Bashaw, AB. Nothing appeared to be stolen and there are no witnesses or suspects at this time.

April 8, 2015
Bashaw RCMP received report of an alarm in Ferintosh, AB. Police were en route to the location when they were informed it was a false alarm.

Bashaw RCMP received report of a break and enter into a garage where alcohol was stolen in Bashaw, AB. A second complaint came in, in the same residential area, where a vehicle had been gone through with minor items stolen. This matter is still under investigation

Bashaw RCMP received report of a Mental Health concern in Mirror, AB. Police and EMS attended. The male was later transported to the Lacombe Hospital to seek further help.

March 27, 2015: Press Release

March 19
Bashaw RCMP received report of a house fire in Mirror, AB, the call came in around 0150. Mirror Fire Department attended the call and controlled the fire. No injuries involved. Police are still investigating the matter.

Bashaw RCMP received report of a guitar that had been stolen from a store in Bashaw, AB earlier that week. The guitar was described as a red Epiphone acoustic/electric guitar, had a small crack in the frame, produced between 1972-1975, with a whammy board.

March 20
Bashaw RCMP received report of a driving complaint on public property. Police were told a dark colored truck drove up the complainants driveway, proceeded to do donuts 2-3 times and then drove off. Police patrolled the area but the vehicle was gone on arrival.

Bashaw RCMP received report of a theft at the Bashaw School. This matter is still under investigation.

Bashaw RCMP received report of a concern in regard to a drafted Parenting Consent Order, in Bashaw, AB. The complainant was enquiring on how to best deal with the situation at hand, and was advised to seek legal counsel.

Bashaw RCMP received report of a two vehicle motor vehicle collision in Mirror, AB. A parked vehicle was struck as the other was backing up. No injuries involved.

March 21
Bashaw RCMP received report of uttering threats and mischief to a property in Alix, AB. The complainant had their tires slashed but as not interested in providing a statement, only wanted a warning given. Both parties had damage done to their property but neither were interested in pursuing charges at this time.

Bashaw RCMP observed a vehicle stunting in Bashaw, AB. Police found the vehicle at the owners residence. Police were then informed about an assault that occurred. Neither party wished to give details about the incident or provide statements. No violation ticket was issued, just a warning in regards to the driving.

March 23
Bashaw RCMP received report of a motor vehicle collision that occurred on March 22, 2015. No other details provided. Still under investigation.

Bashaw RCMP received report of a suspicious vehicle in Edberg, AB. The red truck had been parked in front of the fire truck exit and had been there awhile. Licence plate was not obtained. Police patrolled the area and the truck was gone on arrival.

March 24
Police received report of a possible single vehicle collision near Edberg, AB. Police were informed there was a red car in the ditch that appeared to have taken out a sign. The vehicle appeared to have no occupants, not smoking and no fluids leaking. No licence plate obtained. Police patrolled the area and the vehicle was gone on arrival.

Bashaw RCMP received report of found property on a rural site near Alix, AB. A spool of approximately 25 metres of tech cable was found by the employee at the lease site. The wire was wrapped in some trees and the rest in the spool laying on the ground. Police attended the scene and the wire was seized. This matter is still under investigation.

March 25
Police received report of a single vehicle collision in Pelican Point, AB that occurred on March 15, 2015. The vehicle was backing out of a driveway when it caught ice and hit a tree. No injuries involved.

Bashaw RCMP received report of a stolen licence plate from Mirror, AB. No other details available. Still under investigation.

Bashaw RCMP received report of a noise complaint in Mirror, AB. There was loud music playing in the afternoon, but the complainant was unable to say where the music was coming from.

Bashaw RCMP received report of a vehicle that passed on a double solid line and did not stop at a stop sign near TEES, AB. No licence plate was obtained. Police were not able to intercept, and informed Blackfalds RCMP and Lacombe Police Service to be on the lookout for the vehicle.

March 24, 2015: Press Release

March 16
Police received a complaint of mischief near RR 192 and Heatherbrae Hall. Initial complaint was of hearing gun shots near a granary bin. Male was seen driving black Ford truck. This same vehicle was also seen doing donuts near this location before speeding off. Patrols were made. No evidence of firearms were found.

A complaint was received regarding a vehicle driving dangerously. The vehicle was reported as a Ford welding truck traveling West on Hwy 13 and then North on Hwy 21 at high rates of speed. Information was sent to Leduc RCMP to assist in locating the vehicle.

March 17
Two complaints were received about a dangerous driver in his early 20’s with average build , dark hair, driving an early 2000’s dirty black extended cab pickup with three occupants. The vehicle was reported to be purposely swerving into oncoming traffic. This matter is still under investigation.

While out on patrol, an officer stopped a vehicle driving 161Km/hr west bound on Hwy 13 near Daysland. Driver was charged and is to appear in court at a later date.

March 20
Officers are continuing routine patrols and enforcement efforts on Hwy 21 with regards to speeding.

A grey SUV was seen going into the ditch near RR203 after realizing it couldn’t cross the tracks before the oncoming train. Vehicle was not struck
by train and was gone by the time officers attended scene.

March 21
On Hwy 21 near Bittern Lake, there was a concern about a traffic hazard where a wide load had stalled. Member attended scene where traffic control was put in place via pilot trucks. Vehicle was towed up hill and safety checks were conducted.

March 23
An individual attended our front counter to say she answered an ad in a local newspaper about being a secret shopper. After extensive email communications and receiving a cheque in the mail, the individual was suspicious about the origin of the funds and went to the bank only to be notified the funds did not match the individual issuing the cheque. This matter is still under investigation.

March 24
A call was received about an erratic driver traveling north on Hwy 21 near Armena. Vehicle was described as a white sports car, weaving back and forth in his lane and traveling at a high rate of speed. No driver description was available.

A 2014 black enclosed utility trailer was stolen from a Camrose County residence.  Please call Camrose RCMP with any information.

March 13
Camrose RCMP received complaints of a red 1994 Chevrolet Blazer slowly driving around Hwy 623 near TWP 491.  The two vehicle occupants were acting suspiciously, prowling and knocking on doors to see if anyone is home and using the excuse of needing gas if any one answers.  Please be on the lookout for this type of suspicious activity and call Camrose RCMP with any information.  Driver was reported to have a Mohawk. Matter is still under investigation.

March 19
There has been an increase in the number of reports of erratic drivers and speeders.  Please be reminded that though the weather has improved, be cautious with driving habits.

February 24
Extreme weather conditions caused a large truck to roll on Highway 617. The single male occupant was trapped inside the vehicle with minor injuries until Fire Rescue was able to extricate him.

February 26
Camrose RCMP assisted with a mental health complaint near Kingman. Police attendance was not required as there was no immediate threat.

RCMP received a complaint about an abandoned motor home in the County of Camrose. Police conducted checks on the motor home and same was towed after it was determined it had no license plate. The registered owner was issued a violation ticket.

February 27
Police received a call regarding an ongoing neighbour dispute. Situation was mediated and the bylaw complaint was forwarded to the Camrose County Protective Services.

March 1
A 43 year old male was found in the middle of the night and appeared to have crashed his ski-doo into a tree. The male was transported to the Hospital with a broken collar bone.

Police stopped and checked a suspicious vehicle in the County of Camrose. Two 17 year old subjects were found in possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver was issued a 24 hour suspension. Both subjects were left in the care of their parents.

March 2
At approximately 6:30 AM a truck was attempting to pull another vehicle out of the ditch when it was struck by an oncoming semi-truck. No injuries.

A 61 year old male was issued a 24 hour suspension after getting his vehicle stuck in a snow drift two times in a row.

RCMP received a complaint of harassing phone calls. The matter was resolved once the police followed up with the caller and asked that they no longer contact that individual.

February 12
Camrose RCMP received a report of a vehicle vs train collision near New Norway. No injuries were reported. Determined the collision was caused by icy road conditions.

February 13
RCMP and the Hay Lakes Fire Department were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 21. No signs of alcohol involved. Determined slippery road conditions caused the collision. No serious injuries reported.

A cement truck rolled on Highway 26 due to extremely icy road conditions following freezing rain. The 54 year old driver suffered minor injuries.

Unknown person(s) dumped a large amount of stripped copper wire into the ditch along Highway 833. Please call Camrose RCMP with any information.

An 83 year old driver was stopped by Camrose Police Service after side swiping an oncoming vehicle on Highway 13. Camrose RCMP is conducting an investigation.

February 16
A residential break & enter was reported in the New Norway area. Owners were away for a week and found a safe, jewelry and other belongings missing from their residence.

February 17
RCMP member came across a 3 vehicle non-injury collision. The matter is under investigation.

February 21
25 year old male driver was uninjured and facing Impaired Driving charges after driving into the side of a train on Highway 833.

February 23
Police attended a rural residence after receiving a complaint of a domestic dispute. The situation was mediated.
A truck was reported driving very slowly past rural properties and looking into yards. The truck then leaves when the owner shows up. The truck is described as being an older model white Ford truck with blue and red pin stripes on passenger side. Please call the RCMP if you see any suspicious people or vehicles.

February 2 - February 9, Press Release

February 2
RCMP received a call of an abandoned truck on Township Road 491. Determined the owner was arrested for a major stolen property investigation. The truck was towed.

February 3
A non-injury collision was reported after a semi-truck with trailer struck a van. Slippery road conditions were determined to be a factor.

February 5
Camrose RCMP dealt with a landlord tenant dispute which led to Child and Family Services involvement.

Slippery road conditions caused a freightliner to roll on Highway 26. Bawlf Fire Rescue and Camrose EMS assisted. No injuries reported.

February 7
Police assisted in dealing with a dog ownership dispute. The matter is still currently under investigation.
